UFF ANNOUNCES LEAGUE PAYOUT PLANS FOR LEAGUE CHAMPION
UFF Staff writer - 11/4/2011

(WAUCHULA) -- United Football Federation president Mike Ioannidis announced yesterday evening that within the UFF's league budget, which hovers around $14,000 with 18-19 teams paying their full league fee, what the league will offer for their membership into the UFF.

Among the following is what Ioannidis states the league will do for the 2012 season:

$2,000 payout to the league champion

Championship rings to the league champion (45-50 rings)

Payout for all divisional champions (Undisclosed amount)

Trophies and yearly awards

All-star jerseys/awards

The UFF up until yesterday, had not announced publicly what the league will offer for the champion and others. With the announcement, though, has received harsh criticism from other leagues, including the SAFA (Southern Amateur Football Association), which earlier in the week announced they will be offering a free annual league fee for the 2012 season.

The Gainesville Gators, who committed to the UFF just over a week and a half ago, are one of the commitments that have dashed over to the SAFA, but Ioannidis believes that with the league's offering for the league champion, you get more for your dollar.

"You get more bang for your buck," Ioannidis said. "Yes, you do pay a $750 league fee and yes, there is only one league champion that receives the payout but we feel we can compete with other leagues in what they can compensate. Lowering our league fees won't do anything."

The league is also looking into having an all-artificial turf field for the UFF's United Cup II championship game, which will be played in May, 2012. Only other league that offers that is the FFA (Florida Football Alliance), which has a $3,000 annual league fee for members.
