The Pflugerville freshman A (gold) squad stands 2-0 at the Greater Austin Tournament after defeating Copperas Cove 81-32 Thursday morning and following with a 68-22 victory over Liberty Hill in afternoon play. The two wins move PHS into the championship game of the eight-team freshmen tournament. Freshmen coach Patrick Hinson's squad plays in Saturday's (Nov. 21) 11 a.m. championship game at McNeill HS against an opponent TBA.
The PHS freshman are now 5-0 on the year and with the two Greater Austin tourney victories.
In the win over Copperas Cove, the Panthers were paced by guard Lexi Box (game-high 22 points), point guard Taylor Ross (14 points) and forward Mackenzie Browning (13). ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
