Jessica Rhodes scored 21 points and Sammi Webster added 18 to give William Byrd a dramatic 55-53 nondistrict girls basketball victory over Patrick Henry on Monday.

The Patriots led by 14 going into halftime, but the Terriers clawed their way back into the game with solid free-throw shooting.

Patrick Henry was whistled for 18 fouls on the night, while William Byrd was called for eight.

The comeback spoiled the evening for Sarah Williams, who scored her 1,000th career point in the second quarter

Williams finished with a game-high 24 points.
