Posted Feb 10/10 - Panthers clinch fourth consecutive District title and 21st overall with 75-50 win over Connally; Christie Mooney (19 pts), Nneka Enemkpali (15 points, 15 rebounds) lead PHS

PFLUGERVILLE, Texas -- Behind a game-high 19 points from senior forward Christie Mooney and a 15-point, game-high 15-rebound effort by junior post Nneka Enemkpali (pictured), the state-ranked Pflugerville girls varsity basketball squad earned its fourth consecutive District title and the 21st in program history Tuesday with a 75-50 victory over cross-town opponent Pflugerville Connally in a "Pink Zone Night" contest. It was the regular season finale for both squads in a game played in front of a spirited, Panther Gym-filled crowd, many dressed in pink to lend support on Pink Zone Night as the two teams supported the efforts of the nation-wide Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Pink Zone program to support the fight against cancer.

The Panthers will enter the 2010 Texas 5A playoff with a 27-5 record. Pflugerville won the District 25-5A championship outright with a 13-1 mark. This marked the 21st District title in PHS program history and the eighth under current head coach Nancy Walling, with five of them coming in the last six years.
