LOCKHART, Texas -- The state-ranked Pflugerville Panthers began their 2010 State playoff competition Tuesday with a 61-52 victory over San Antonio Reagan in Bi-District competition at Lockhart High School. The Panthers were paced by a double-double from junior post Nneka Enemkpali (pictured) who collected 17 points and a season-high 16 rebounds, and junior guard Curtiesha Woods who also netted 17 points, including a seven-for-nine effort from the foul line.

The win gives the Panthers a 28-5 record and moves Pflugerville into the second round (the Area competition) on Friday, Feb. 19, against a team and site TBA.

Joining Enemkpali and Woods in double-figure scoring were senior forward Christie Mooney (12 points) and junior forward Adesuwa Ebomwonyi (10 points). Mooney had a game-high seven steals while Ebomwonyi had four steals.

Pflugerville led at the half, 32-28. Down the stretch, the Panthers relied on tough defense and strong free throw shooting to pull out the victory.
