PFLUGERVILLE, Texas -- Due to inclement and snowy weather in Central Texas, the Pflugerville girls basketball State 5A Regional quarterfinal playoff game against San Antonio Wagner, scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 23, has been POSTPONED until tomorrow. That regional quarterfinal contest will now be played on WEDNESDAY, FEB. 24, at 7 p.m. at Lehman High School in Kyle(the original time and location for the game).
Pflugerville, the District 25-5A champion, enters the regional quarterfinals with a 29-5 record. San Antonio Wagner (32-2) won the District 27-5A crown. In the most recent State 5A rankings, Pflugerville is No. 9 (by Texas Girls Coaches Association) and was 15th in the final regular season TABC/Tex Preps Basketball Magazine rankings. Wagner is seventh (TGCA) and stood eighth (TABC/Tex Preps).
The Panthers and Thunderbirds met last year in this same round of the State tourney playoffs, with Pflugerville emerging with a 56-49 victory in a game played at Lockhart High School to vault into the State Regional Championships. The Panthers won the Region IV title en route to the program's sixth trip to the State Tournament final four. State 5A Playoff Information: Area Championship Round (2nd Rd)
