The Lady Cougars coasted to victories in their first two games Thursday night during the Spring Branch ISD Tournament. Cinco Ranch crushed Fort Bend Bush in two matches, 25-4 and 25-9 and then dispatched Klein in two matches 25-4 and 25-17.
The Lady Cougars are eyeing a second consecutive tournament championship after winning the Katy ISD Tournament last weekend. However, the team has a difficult challenge ahead of them as they face #1 Cypress Woods on Friday morning at Memorial High School. Cypress Woods is coming off their own recent championship by winning the CY-Fair ISD Tournament. They were recently swepted by College Park (Woodlands) with all three matches closely contested.
Cinco Ranch (12-1) is ranked #5 in the area and has won 12 straight games since opening the season with a devastating lost to Cy-Fair. A victory over Cy-Woods would bring potential matches with #3 Stratford and an championship matchup with #2 Clear Brook. However, the Lady Cougars are not looking ahead of tomorrows match up. This "seasoned" bunch is taking one game at a time.
