Russell County Lakers Varsity cruises past Lincoln County, 7-1

Lincoln County had a tough outing on Friday, as Russell County Lakers dominated in a 7-1 win in seven innings.

Russell County Lakers Varsity scored two runs in the seventh on an RBI single by Grant Best and a sacrifice fly by Brennan Coffey.

Best had a hot bat for Russell County Lakers Varsity. Best went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run.

Alex Turner got the win for Russell County Lakers  thanks to eight strikeouts. Turner allowed no earned runs on two hits and two walks over five innings.

Russell County Lakers Varsity didn't relinquish the lead after scoring two runs in the third inning when it scored on an error.

The Lakers  brought home two runs in the sixth inning, and matched that run total in the seventh. In the sixth,  Lakers  scored on an RBI single by Coffey, plating Grant Best.
