Alex Turner leads Lakers to 9-0 victory thanks to 11 strikeouts

A magnificent effort by Alex Turner carried Russell County Lakers to a 9-0 win in seven innings over Clinton County on Monday.

Turner struck out 11 hitters en route to the Russell County win. Russell County Lakers pitcher gave up just two hits over seven shutout innings.

Russell County blew out Clinton County thanks to 12 hits, including two extra base hits. l County Lakers scored three runs in the sixth on Russell County scored in the sixth on an RBI double by Brennan Coffey, an RBI double by Ben McFall, and an RBI single by Colton Back.

Ben Bertram did his best to jumpstart the offense for Lakers , reaching base three times. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the first and fourth innings.

Russell County went up for good in the first, scoring one run on a groundout by Grant Best.

Russell County matched its two-run third inning with two more in the fourth. In the third,Lakers scored, bringing home Ben Bertram.

Ben Bertram kicked things off with a single, scoring Bobby Williams. That was followed up by Grant Best's single, plating Lucas Bault.
