The AAA Kelowna Mets were first formed in 2001 in order to give kids living in the central interior of British Columbia a chance to play at the highest level of baseball available in the province.
The Mets played three years at the triple A level, competing in the Pee-Wee division in the first year followed by two years at the Bantam level, utilzing players primarily from Kelowna, but also from Rutland, Westside, Vernon, and Kamloops.
The team achieved success in each of its three years in operation, including three provincial championship appearances, highlighted by a provincial bronze medal in 2001, and a provincial silver medal and Western Canada gold medal in 2003.
