Elias Vaid aka Flash represents his nickname well. He is as agile as they come when tearing up any athletic surface including Swan-Guard Stadium where he finished 1st and 3rd in 2 heats in the 100 m dash. Along with his amazing raw athleticism the report on Elias also speaks of his smooth hands in the infield and his compact swing that exemplifies consistent quality contact. On the mound he has excellent poise and goes right after hitters aggressively, daring them to try and hit him. Vaid is extremely self motivated and has a unique natural ability to make others around him better. His baseball career has been highlighted by a 10 run final inning comeback to win the Abercromby Cup 14-13 as a member of the Burnaby Blue Jays. Besides being a force on the diamond Elias also swims, golfs, plays poker, is a gifted mathmetician and plans on beginning his quest to become a Vancouver Canuck this winter playing ice hockey for the first time.

Mykel spent the winter months working hard indoors under the watchful eye of Braves Bantam AAA coach Parker Kynoch. Mykel's scouting report describes him as a powerful arm with a heavy bat and unlimited potential provided he remains focused. With Ferguson's newly adopted no stride approach to hitting he has enabled himself to attack the plate aggressively at all times and he has the ability to hit the ball hard to all fields. On the mound Mykel pounds the strike zone with good velocity generated by his 112 pound frame, and provided he keeps his composure, he could prove to be highly effective for Coach Pill and the BMBA Mosquito Phillies. Before making the jump to mosquito Mykel excelled in tadpole showcasing his heads up baseball sense by being the center focus of a triple play during a 2008 contest. He has his sights set high this year with the hopes of pitching no hit baseball during as many outings as possible and contributing to his teams sucess by hitting at least one home run. Little Man, as he is often called, also was recently awarded the most improved student in his taekwondo class and also enjoys basketball, floor hockey, soccer and of course video games. Watch out for this young talent mowing down opposing hitters at Kensington this summer.

 

 

How to Become a Burnaby Braves Bantam AAA Future Prospect

The Burnaby Braves Bantam AAA Baseball Club would like to acknowledge young talent moving its way up the ranks in the Burnaby Minor Baseball Association (BMBA). The BMBA has spent a lot of time and sweat into taking a sincere approach to developing its players in order to provide the best opportunity to succeed at a high level. Many players spend time in the off season working out with Bantam AAA coaches Parker Kynoch and Richard Forbes at The Bullpen Baseball School in New Westminster and all players that enroll with the BMBA are offered time with Parker and Richard as well through their respective teams. The Burnaby Braves Bantam AAA Baseball Club recognizes the importance of developing young players at an early age in order to build, maintain and perform a high competitive level of baseball while keeping it fun for all those involved. Throughout the year we will feature young prospects working their way up through the ranks of the BMBA with aspirations of one day playing Bantam AAA baseball for the Burnaby Braves.
