| Game Notes: Excellent first game for the team. NO ERRORS by either team. First time we come close to seeing that all year. Solid solid defense. Nick Windebank does a great job behind the plate, throws out one runner at second, throws out another coming home on a potential wild pitch, and throws out a third at first on a bunt. Marshall Johnston (3)and Ryan Kits (3 2/3)split the pitching, Kits particularly effective with 6 Ks and no walks. Kits tagged with a tough loss. Duncan actually won the game in the top of the seventh, but the ump blew it and took away the go-ahead run. Bad call on the ball getting stuck in the screen with no runners allowed to advance, but no big deal, the final score doesnt really matter. On offense Emlyn Eager is the big time leader in this opening game, keying three rallies with two big hits and a walk. Oggy drives in two runs, one on a big double to centre. Kits contributes a triple over the right fielders head. Kits can sure run if he has to. | ||||||||||
