Higgins & Christian (5) Eastview opened the season with a 9-5 victory in league play against Rochester. The Lightning overcame an early 4 run deficit with 5 runs in the 3rd. Rochester tied it in the 4th with another unearned run but the Lightning responded with 4 runs of their own to take a 9-5 lead. The game was called after 4.5 innings because of darkness. Starting pitcher Sam Higgins (5 H, 3 K, 1 ER) debuted by going 4 innings and giving up 5 runs. Christian (1 K) came in and pitched a perfect 5th. The offense was lead by Sikich (2 hits), Anderson (3 walks), and Woods (2b, Sb, Rbi). The Lightning travel to Northfield tomorrow for their first road game of the season.
