| Game Notes: Make up game from 2/28 - On Wednesday, 4/1 we played a somewhat contentious game against the Storm. Sean took the mound for the first three innings and was simply outstanding, striking out six hitters in the three innings, while holding the Storm to one run during that time. Sean left with a 6-1 lead after three. Jack Ryan pitched the fourth and did well, striking out three hitters (with one reaching on a dropped 3rd strike) but he also yielded 2 hits and 2 walks, allowing the Storm to score 3 runs and creep back in to the game. The inning ended on a beautiful play where Max got the ball in from left field to Sean at catcher, who threw a strike to Kai at 3B to nail a runner. In the fifth inning Dylan struck out the first two hitters before allowing an infield hit; he struck out the next batter who reached on a dropped 3rd strike (third time we allowed that to happen in this game). The next batter hit a shot to RF driving in 2 runs - after we threw the ball around a bit they tried to stretch it to a "triple" and Jack R threw the runner out at 3B, ending the game! Offensively we did a little bit better than our previous few games, but still could only muster 7 hits and 7 runs over 5 innings. We were fortunate to escape with a 7-6 win! Stars were awarded to Sean, Jack R and Jack Adler (2 hits/2 runs)! | ||||||||||
