Notes:
The East Suns and Germantown Warhawks passed the lead back and forth three times on Friday at Regner Park, but in the end the Suns pulled out a 6-3 win in seven innings over undefeated Germantown. The Suns pulled out the win thanks to a strong third inning. A fielder's choice scored Zach Biermann and gave the Suns the lead for good. Biermann racked up two RBIs on three hits for Suns. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the third and sixth innings. Matt Schubert was a workhorse on the mound while bagging the win for Suns. Schubert allowed three earned runs, three hits and two walks while striking out two over seven innings of work. The bottom of the first saw the Suns take an early lead, 2-0. A double by Biermann, scoring Sam Lemke started the inning off. The Suns added another run when Biermann scored on an RBI double by Eric Bould. The Suns matched its one-run fourth inning with one more in the sixth. They got a big insurance run in the bottom of the sixth when Biermann drove in Luke Grefsheim when he led off the inning with the walk. Schubert then shut down the Warhawks in the top of the 7th to seal the complete game victory. |
