Owatonna ended Eastview's seven game win streak by defeating the Lightning both games in the doubleheader, 8-4 and 6-5. Eastview outhit Owatonna on the night 19-16. However, the Lightning were hurt by giving Owatonna too many outs. For the night Eastview committed 7 errors, walked 4 guys, beaned 4 guys, and had 6 passed balls. Owatonna's catcher also shut down any chance of Eastview's running game in the second game. The Lightning need to be more aggressive at 1B if they want to contend at State with the catcher's they'll see. With the losses, Eastview falls to 5-5 in league play and moves all the way back to 5th. They come back right away to play a gritty Northfield team who Eastview defeated 10-0 earlier this year. Norhtfield, however, has bounced back by defeating league-leading Burnsville 9-8 for their only loss. The Lightning will be sending Corey Woods (1-0, 2.63) to the bump for only his second start of the season.
