BAD BOYS 0000000053
Ruston Monarchs 101050X782
Game Notes: Monarchs win 7-0. The Bad Boys are shut out for the first time all year. The Bad Boys only struck out 4 times in the 7 inning contest and did not seem overmatched by Monarch starter David Bingham. Twice, Bad Boy at bats ended in comebacker double plays. The game ender coming with the bases loaded. Bad Boy starter Danny Clemans(0-2) pitched quite well for 4 innings, then came the fateful third time through the order. As a starter Clemans is holding opponenents to a .133 avg the first 2 times through the lineup. The third time through is a different story though, as opponents are hitting 10-12 (.833). The team desperately needed the innings that Clemans provided tonight. Offensively, not much to write home about. Tony Romero did get a hit to extend his hitting streak to 6 games in which he's hitting .421(.800 when not striking out). Romero is second to Travis Thomas with an OPS of 1.026. Clemans, batting cleanup for the first time this year, reached base in all three of his plate appearances. He was 1-1 with 2 walks and now has a .286 batting average to go along with his .902 OPS. Bad Boy utility man and closer(though he hasn't had the opportunity), Brian Airey, was 1-2 with a SB. Airey has a career average of .333 (4-12) versus the Monarchs. He also is 9-9 in stolen base attempts for his career. Carlson and Larson each had hits on the day to raise their averages to .316 and .231 respectively. That's it. Five hits. The bad news Bad Boys are now 0-7 on the season and 5-21-1 all-time. Double header versus the 1-3 Black Sox this Sunday at Heritage. A Monarch is a butterfly...
