The Suns jump on the Nicolet Knights early and coasts to 17-1 win! East refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against Nicolet Varsity, recording a 17-1 victory on Thursday at Stormonth Field. The game was decided quickly as East exerted its will early with 11 runs in the first three innings. A three-run home run by Zach Biermann in the first inning fueled East's offense early. Zach racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Suns. Jonah Maas shut down Nicolet Varsity while he was on the mound. Nicolet Varsity managed just three hits off of the Suns pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four during his four innings of work. George Wilson took the loss for Nicolet Varsity. He allowed 11 runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked four and struck out two. East increased its lead with eight runs in the third. A error scored Nick Rosenthal for the inning's first run. That was followed up by Turner Pruett's double, plating Collin Liebherr. East scored three runs in the fourth inning, and then followed it up with three more in the fifth. Josh Breuer opened the scoring in the 5th frame.
