Game

**Game ended with 2 outs in bottom of 8th inning**
Dickson
After a 12-day layoff and winning 3 in a row, Eastview (16-12-1) lost its opening round playoff game against #7 seeded St Croix. The Lightning opened up the game with a tally right away in the top of the first. Woods (2 BB, 2 SB) and Velin (1B, BB) reached base before Allen (BB, RBI) hit a fielder's choice to 2nd base. Woods was hustling the entire way and scored from second base on a close play at home. That was Eastview's only run on the evening however as they were held hitless until the 7th inning. They ended up only getting 3 hits and going 0-for-10 with runners in scoring position. It's too bad they couldn't get anything going because Dickson (1 ER, 4 H, 5 K) brought his A game and definitely did not deserve to lose. He kept St Croix hitters off balance all night until his final pitch when he hung a breaking ball and a good hitter crushed it. Eastview will have off until they play in the MBT State Tournament at Eagan this weekend. Their first opponent is Cottage Grove, who upset Orono Monday night and moved on to quarterfinal play in league playoffs. Sean Devine (2-3, 2.96) is expected to get the ball for his 7th start on the bump (tied for team lead).
