Game Notes: Henry & Dickson (3)

Eastview lost their first game of bracket play in the MBT State Tournament to Lakeville South by a score of 6-4. Eastview fell behind early and were being shut out until the 7th inning when they put four across and had the tying run on first base. Dickson (5 K) came in relief of Henry and got some big outs to keep the game within reach. To say how great of a season he's had, it was his third worst outing of the year. He has been outstanding in any role asked of him on the mound! Dickson (2B, RBI) also got one of the three RBI on the day. Woods (RBI) added two hits and Jonas (BB, HBP) stole 5 bags for the game! With 2 outs and guys on the corners, Devine roped one to left center but the Cougars' centerfielder, known for his speed, tracked the ball down. The Lightning were 2-13 with guys in scoring position. They had plenty of guys on base all day but kept falling one hit short with ducks on the pond! The loss just really proves how tough it is to beat a team four times in a season. Eastview has the week off before playing their final games of the season in the MSF State Tournament next weekend at Burnsville. The games get no easier with their pool consisting of Shoreview and Burnsville White -- the 2nd and 3rd seeds in the MBT Tournament. Eastview just defeated Shoreview 7-1 this weekend and hope to see similar results next weekend. They also have seen Burnsville White three times this year, losing all three. As stated earlier, it is tough to defeat a team four times in a season....
