Spika, Reller (4), & Granat (5) Eastview moved to 4-2 on the season as they defeated Shoreview in the opener of the Woodbury Tournament. Eastview struck first getting three in the first with some aggressive baserunning to the tune of three steals. After Shoreview answered with one of their own, the Lightning put another three spot on the board with two more steals and a few wild pitches. Eastview held on to win 6-5 to win their fourth out of their past five games. Granat (SV, K) came in to strike out the final batter for Shoreview as the game ended because of the time limit. Alex Reller picked up his first win in his first appearance and Dan Spika had three great innings before losing his control in the fourth. Eastview was led on offense by Anderson (2 BB, 2 SB, 2 RS), Spika (2 H, SB), Brodeur (2 BB, SB), & Granat (2 BB, 2 RS) as they all reached base multiple times. Eastview comes back with a morning game against host team Woodbury Blue at 10am. Tyler Brodeur (1-1, 2.42) is expected to take the mound for his third start of the season.
