Brodeur, Anderson (3) & Stofferahn (6) Eastview (15-23-6) won their 2nd game in their last 3 as they came back and defeated 8th seed North St Paul 6-3. Coming into play, Eastview held a 1-19 record when being behind after 4 innings of play. Tonight, they doubled their win total with their 2nd comeback win of the season. They scored 6 runs in the 6th inning to get up 6-3 and did not look back. The only player with a multiple hit game was Reller (2 BB, RS). The 6th inning started with Eastview down 3-0. Kelley (RS) walked and Voss got on by a crucial error. After a Reller walk, Metz (RS) followed it up with an RBI single in his first game back from injury. Huhner (RBI) followed with a single and Granat drove in a run with a bases-loaded walk (2 BB, RS). Groskreutz added the leading tally with an RBI groundout (1B) with great hustle and awareness by Metz. With 2-out and only a 1-run lead, Spika (BB) came through with a clutch 2-RBI single to put the lead to 3. Eastview had a great outing from Anderson (2 H, 0 R) who threw 3 innings without a walk to earn his team-leading 4th win on the season. Stofferahn pitched the last 2 innings perfect to earn his 2nd save on the season, tying him for the team lead in that category. Eastview comes back with another very tough test tomorrow as they face the Runner-Up in the MBT State Tournament last weekend Mound Westonka. The Whitehawks averaged over 10 runs for the tournament and went 6-1 on the weekend. The Lightning will send Stofferahn (2-5, 4.91) to the bump tomorrow as they are considering a committee approach on the mound with tonight's success with it. Game time is slated for 1115am.
