Notes:
New Glarus got off to a big start when Ryan, the team's first batter, hit a triple. After walking the next batter, Pecatonica's starting pitcher, S. McVay, responded with three straight strike outs to keep New Glarus off the board. In the bottom of the 1st, Pecatonica's D. Conwell hit a low line drive to right field to earn him an in-the-park home run, and the first score of the game. N. Loyd increased Pec's lead and earned his first RBI when he knocked a 2-base hit into left centerfield and brought in J. Scoville who was on second. With bases loaded, Pecatonica's 3rd baseman, C. Norton, picked off an unassisted double play by tagging the third-base runner and then third base, keeping New Glarus scoreless in the 3rd inning. New Glarus rallied in the 5th however with 5 unanswered runs, but the Pec. 4th Graders held on to win their first game 12-to-5. |
