Notes:
Anderson, Kelley (5) & Stofferahn (5) Eastview lost the MBL Playoff first round game to visiting Mpls Blue 8-4. The Lightning jumped out to 3-0 and 4-1 leads through the 1st and 4th innings respectively. However, their defense and pitching fell apart in the 5th as they gave up 6 runs to fall behind. Minneapolis also added insurance runs in the last 2 innings to win 8-4. Eastview managed to only get 5 hits of offense and walk only once. They were helped out by a subpar Minneapolis defense to score 3 early runs. Anderson (4 K, 3 H) pitched excellent through 4 but died down quickly in the 5th. Eastview's defense made 4 errors but only one ended up hurting them. Eastview takes the rest of the week off before their final go this weekend at the Gopher State Tournament of Champions. They will be seeded #25 and will face off with #8 seed North St Paul, #25 seed Eagan Blue (beat them 7-6 earlier this year) & #9 seed Mound Westonka (finished 2nd last weekend at MBT State). Only the pool winners advance so Eastview needs to bring their A-game from the start to have a shot to make bracket play. Anderson (L, 3-4) |
