Smith & Furnstahl (7) Eastview (3-1) moved their winning streak to 3 by defeating St Croix 9-2 in the 2nd game of pool play. The story of the day was Matt Smith (6 H, 1 ER) on the mound, who threw 0 innings last year but came up with 6 strong innings today. He walked 8 and struck out 0 but he battled out of every jam and Eastview's defense came to play -- the 1 error is the least given up in a game this season. Offensively, the Lightning knocked out 15 hits (10 different guys) led by Buck (2 rbi), Foy (2 rs, rbi) Smith (2 sb, 2 rbi), Grimm (sb, rbi) & Perlenfein (3 sb, rbi) -- all reaching base 3 times!
