Eastview (12-8) lost the opener of the Eagan Tournament 7-3 against Hillcrest, with the game being called after 6 for time contstraints. Eastview jumped out to a 1-0 lead off a 2-out RBI single by Kyllo (2 BB). After giving up 3 in the 3rd, the Lightning got another run back on a bases loaded SAC fly. Hillcrest scored the next 4 runs before Eastview got another run in the 6th to narrow the lead to 4. The story of the game was Eastview stranding runners on (9 in 6 innings with 6 of those 9 in scoring position), only 2 hits for the game, and falling behind too many Hillcrest batters. The Lightning staff had 14 3-ball counts for the game, helping Hillcrest sit on the fastball and driving the ball. With the loss, Eastview needs to come back and defeat a strong St Croix squad who the Lightning defeated 9-2 a few weeks ago. St Croix, however, is only 1 game back of 1st place in their region. Jack Buck (1-2, 3.76) will hop to the mound and hope to shut down their offense, which has averaged almost 10 runs per league contest.
