Smith Eastview (13-8-1) finished up pool play with a 1-1 tie against district rival Eagan Blue. Matt "Hollywood" Smith (3 H, 1 BB) went all 7 innings and yielded only 1 unearned run and getting a season high 3 punch outs. He battled out of a bases loaded, 1 out jam in the 7th inning to prevent the loss. Jack Buck and Matt Smith (2 BB, RS, SB) were the only offensive players who reached base multiple times. With the tie, Eastview needs Hillcrest to either defeat or tie St Croix to advance out of pool play. |
