Eastview (9-5) won again to make it 5 in a row and got back to .500 in league play by defeating rivals Apple Valley. The Lightning struck first with a 2-out single by Buck (2 RS, RBI) followed by an error and with Buck attempting to get to 3rd, the throw went out of play. In the 3rd, Eastview put 3 more on the board with only 2 hits but one of them being a clutch double by Kyllo (2 RBI). The story of the day was the staff of the Lightning. 3 pitchers combined to only give up 5 Eagles hits and striking out 9 batters. Buck (3 IP, 0 H, 6 K) came on to get the save after going the first 2 innings. The Lightning have some more momentum going into this weekend's woodbat tournament. They begin play by squaring off against West St Paul, who is 5-1 in league play. Scott Perlenfein (4-1, 1.89) will toe the rubber for his 3rd start on the season.
