Ronhovde, Perlenfein (3) & Frojd (6) Eastview (1-1) got on the board with their first win of the season against division-leading Prior Lake. Entering the contest, Prior Lake was 2-0 with a +26 run differential. The Lightning stayed patient and put together some great AB's and ran the bases aggressively to constantly put pressure on the defense. They had Prior Lake on their heels all game. Eastview took 15 walks and combined that with 7 steals and 9 hits to put up 14 unanswered runs to win 14-5. Their defense was much improved and their pitching shut down the opposing bats. While there were still too many walks by the pitchers, it was a successful evening overall. Every player contributed whether it was with their eyes, bats, arms, or legs. Eastview has Thursday off before this weekends tournament at Apple Valley. They open pool play Friday night against Lakeville North. Jack Buck (0-1, 6.01) is taking the ball as he tries to shut down the Panther offense. Lakeville North won their only game on the young season 11-1. Game time is set for 6pm. Perlenfein (W, 1-0) |
