Sikich & Edsten (4) The Lightning fell to league leader Northfield 10-6 in a close battle. Eastveiw has now lost nine times in their last eleven games. After falling early 9-1, they kept battling back and got within four. In their last four innings, they left two guys in scoring position in each inning and left twelve on total for the game. The offense knocked out 15 hits and were led by Stark (rbi 2b), Christian (rbi), Velin (3 h, 2 sb, rbi), Woods (3b, 2 r), Devine (sb, bb), & Edsten (2 rbi)- all had multiple hits!! The Lightning were hurt by their free bases given up. The staff walked 6 Northfield batters and also beaned a guy; half their runs were scored from guys who were given a free base. Eastview has the rest of the week off for the 4th of July but come back with multiple league games this weekend at Owatonna and at home vs Rosemount. Sikich (L, 2-2) |
