Eastview (19-11-1) got back on the winning side of things with a thrilling come-from-behind 6-5 victory of Eagan Blue. Going into this weekend's MBT State Tournament, the Lightning have now won 6 of 7 with their only loss a 14-point blowout at Prior Lake. Eastview took the lead in the first with a leadoff single by Frojd (2 RS) who reached three times on the game. After Furnstahl (4 SB), courtesy running for Frojd, got to second on a wild pitch, he stole third. Perlenfein (2 RS, 2 BB) followed it up with a walk and then he stole second and Furnstahl home on the throw. Perlenfein scored on the next batter when the second baseman made a fielding error. After Eagan scored 3 to go up 4-2, the Lightning got one back to cut the lead. Ferber (3 BB) took a 2-out walk, went to second on a wild pitch, and stole third. Ferber ended up scoring on another wild pitch. Eagan put up another run right away to extend the lead to 5-3. It stayed that way until the 7th when Frojd led off by hitting a hard grounder to short, causing the shortstop to boot it. Perlenfein moved him up to second with a walk. After a stirkout, Grimm (SB) took one of his three walks to load the bases. Matt Smith worked the count and put the ball in play where the first basemen's throw pulled the catcher's foot off the base. With the bases still loaded and the tying run on 3rd, Furnstahl (2B) hit an RBI groundout, putting the winning run on 3rd base with 2 outs. After an intentional walk to Ferber, Jack Foy worked the count and got a walkoff RBI walk. Eastview scored 3 in the inning without a single hit as they only had one hit after the 2nd inning. Eastview hasn't lost back-to-back games in over a month as they have found ways to battle back after a loss and get a "W." The Lightning are riding some big momentum going into the weekend tournament. They face East Ridge Gold, Belle Plaine and Minneapolis. East Ridge Gold finished the MBL season with the 5th most runs scored of all 43 teams. Minneapolis is seeded 3rd for the tournament and holds a 2-0 record against Eastview with wins of 4-0 and 3-2. Up first is East Ridge Gold at 1030am Friday at Quarry Point #2. Chris Ferber (3-0, 3.32) will be on the hill for his fourth start on the season. His previous three starts have all resulted in wins for the home town team. Ferber and his teammates hope that this success continues as the biggest game in any tournament is the first one!

Furnstahl (W, 4-3)
