Woods & Edsten (5) The Lightning opened the State Tournament pool play with a blowout loss to EP Red. This is the second time that Eastview has lost to them in the last month- the first being a two-run game. The Lightning got down 7-0 early and never got within striking distance. The defense let down the pitching again, committing four errors. Eden Prairie put the game out of hand in the 5th and 6th innings with three runs in each inning. Their offense mashed out fifteen hits to Eastview's seven. The Lightning offense was led by Stark (rbi 2b, r) & Velin- each had two hits. The Lightning continue pool play tonight against Shoreview Blue in a must-win game. They will send Tony Stark to the mound for his team high 8th start on the season. Woods (L, 2-3) |
