Furnstahl Eastview (4-5) lost to open the River Falls tournament to Lake Elmo by a score of 3-1. The Lightning could not get the bats going as they only had 3 hits of offense led by newcomer Andrew Mikulski (2B). They were aggressive on the bases with 4 steals but stranded 8 guys on base (5 in scoring position). Joe Furnstahl (2 ER, 5 K) went the distance on the mound, scattering 6 hits and 3 runs. The Lightning need to win their next two games to advance to the semifinals. Their next game is against River Falls, who is leading their division in league play.
