EAGAN -- The Lightning (3-3) defeated Eden Prairie 1-0 in the opening game of the Eagan Tournament. McDevitt led off the game with a single and Bangh drove him in with an RBI single. That held true as the Eagles only managed 2 hits in the rain-shortened game. Eastview played perfect defense on the rainy night and repeatedly got out of innings where Eden Prairie had two men on base. In the 5th, the Eagles had the first two runners reach but neither advanced and the Lightning held on for the win. The Lightning play Rochester and East Ridge on Saturday as pool play contiunes.

The remainder of the Eagan Tournament has been canceled due to weather. Eastview is off until Monday night when they face Shakopee in a game under the lights at Legion Field. Adam Stockwell (0-0, 0.00) is receiving his first start on the season. Shakopee is in 2nd place with a 2-1 record. They defeated Rosemount by 12 and Apple Valley by 3 but lost to Lakeville North by 4.
