ROCHESTER -- Eastview (16-10-2) lost its opening game of pool play in the Rochester Tournament 10-9 to White Bear Lake. Eastview jumped on the board early with a SAC fly by Bangh to score Terlizzi to take the lead. After WBL answered, the Lightning scored two more. Johansen walked and moved to 2nd on a SAC bunt. Wilson drove him in on single and scored with 2 outs after a HBP, error, and walk. The Bears scored the next five runs to go up 6-3 after 3 innings. In the 4th, Leighton led off with a walk, Augustin reached on an error, and Selchow walked to load the bases. With 2-outs, Bangh singled home a run and McDevitt cleared the bases to take the lead with a double. McDevitt scored on an error to go up two. In the 7th, up 8-7, Wilson walked and advanced two bases on a Leighton SAC bunt. Augustin brought in Wilson with a perfectly executed squeeze to go up by two. This wasn't enough however, as the Bears scored 3 unearned runs in the home half of the 7th to win in walkoff fashion over Eastview. On the night, the Lightning committed 10 errors on defense as they continued to shoot themselves in the foot. In their last 10 games they are now 3-5-2. They come back right away tomorrow morning against tournament host Rochester (Raptors), who are currently 2nd in their league. The Raptors defeated Cottage Grove 7-4 in their opening game of the tournament. The Lightning will send Jonny Selchow (3-2, 4.34) to the mound as they look to win the first of two games for the day. Game time is set for 8am at the Rochester Baseball Complex.
