McDevitt & Wilson (5) ANDOVER -- Eastview (23-14-2) defeated Robbinsdale 7-0 in its second game of pool play action. Robbinsdale now falls to 1-2 and is eliminated as the Lightning and Minnetonka are both 2-0 going into their pool play finale. Cole McDevitt, nursing a hurt thumb, threw 4 innings allowing only 2 baserunners. He had plenty of offensive support as the Lightning bats stayed hot, scoring 7 runs on 8 hits and putting up runs in every inning but one. 7 different Eastview players had a hit as the offense put the pressure on throughout the entire lineup. Thanks to some hard efforts in convincing the tournament director to let the Eastview--Minnetonka battle take place Saturday night at a local spot instead of traveling up EARLY Sunday morning to Andover, the final game of pool play will take place at 8pm at Eastview's home field of Quarry Point. Keegan Dickson (4-3, 2.65) will take the bump in the must-win game. The winner will advance to the quarterfinals of state. McDevitt (W, 3-2) |
