Game Notes: The Bad Boys are now 2-2 in the their last four games after avenging their opening day loss to the Lineup. The Lineup is a team for whom this "30&over league" specifically changed its rules to accommodate. Though the new "rules" state that players shall be 25 years old prior to league play, they have been caught using at least one younger player versus the Monarchs and Cortizone earlier this year. The Lineup has since been reprimanded by the league with the consequence of the next infraction resulting in season forfeiture. Regardless, today the Lineup chose not only to play that same player that is known to be underage, but also suited up at least three others that would have a hard time buying beer... even at Stadium Deli.

To the action on the field- Jared Podruchny(1-0) cruised through 6 innings for the win, allowing only 2 runs while striking out 5. Podruchny now has a career record of 4-4. While at first glance, 4-4 is certainly not a breathtaking mark, considering the Bad Boys are 7-23-1 all-time, going 4-4 in 11 starts is a tremendous feat. His battery mate Josh Hoke batted lead off for the first time this year and may have found a home. Though he's not known as Mr. Bad Boy like Acree, Hoke has definitely been the heart and soul of this organization since its inception. Baserunning may be Hoke's greatest asset as he regularly takes the extra base, and constantly averts the attention of opposing pitchers and catchers. In most cases that results in more fastballs for those that follow him in the order. On this day Josh was 3-5, reaching base a fourth time on the 9th hit by pitch of his career, a Bad Boy record. He started the game with a hit, and scored a run in the first. He scored three runs in all and swiped his team leading 6th bag of the year. To continue the lovefest, Russell "the Glove Muscle" Breedlove's stick has finally warranted the removal of the second "anything" from his profile. Bird Love is now hitting .290 after an '09 in which he was a .178 hitter. His 2-5 day could have included another base knock had he not turned into a spectator like everyone else as his line drive up the middle ricocheted off the pitcher's glove to the left side. It seemed like an eternity elapsed as the shortstop then scooped up the ball and fired to first, beating Russ by a step. Just a few weeks ago it seemed he would challenge Matt Lowery's '09 average of 77 cents. Travis Thomas was a bad call away from being 4-5 and player of the game. Instead, he'll have to settle for 3 hits and the following ridiculous numbers: a .567 batting average, 1.367 OPS this year(Barry Bonds had an OPS of 1.379 in his wiffleball season of '01), and .411 with a 1.084 OPS for his career. Danny Clemans play was also noteworthy. His flat out dive in right center is the play of the year to date. DC's swing is becoming more and more dangerous. After starting the season 1-6, he's since hit 6-16(.375), and the lightning bolts his swing emits have been reminiscent of the great "Pops" himself. This win sure was a Bad Boy "Family" effort. Brian Airey who is batting .190 on the year had a piss poor call on his check swing for a controversial strikeout to break a string of reaching base safely in 7 straight plate appearances. Of course he would walk in his next plate appearance. As a matter of fact, Airey has an on-base percentage of .625 in his last 4 games. Romero got a hit and 2 RBI's. Mr. Bad Boy, well, you know he joined in. Acree was 2-5 with a double and 2 RBI's. That gives him the RBI lead over T-squared by one with 11, and surpasses Acree's total for all of '09 giving him 21 RBI's for his career. Rhoads also had 2 hits and 2 RBI's to keep his Average over .400. He also turned in a pirouette to end the game that would make a ballerina blush.

The Lineup did cut the Bad Boys lead to 1 due to 3 unearned runs in the 7th. The Orange Hats would answer back in the bottom half though, thanks to consecutive RBI singles by Acree, Romero, and Clemans. Marc Grenon worked the final 3 innings in relief to earn the save. The Bad Boys are now 2-9 and have a week off before returning to the diamond.
