LAKEVILLE -- The Lightning (2-3) lost a heartbreaker to division-leading and undefeated Lakeville North by a score of 9-8. Eastview jumped out to an early lead after a leadoff double by McDevitt (2 RS, BB) and an RBI single by Terlizzi. Unfortunately, they left Terlizzi stranded at 3rd base with 0 outs and were stuck on one. After the Panthers tied the score with a leadoff single by Leighton who scored after an error. Eastview added one more in the 4th after a leadoff single by Selchow and a walk by Johansen. Augustin laid down a SAC bunt to move the runners up and Wilson scored a run with an RBI groundout. After Lakeville scored 5 in the bottom frame to go up 6-3, the Lightning began battling back with another run in the 5th. Dickson (3 RBI) drove in Bangh (2 RS) with a 2-out single. In the 6th, Eastview took the lead 7-6 with a 3-run inning, all with 2 outs. Leighton started the inning with a single, McDevitt drove him in and Bangh followed with a single before McLean worked the count full and got a walk. Dickson had another 2-out single, this time scoring two runs and taking the lead. The Lightning added an insurance run in the 7th with an Augustin RBI double but it didn't hold up as the Panthers scored 3 runs in their last at bats with 2 walks and 2 doubles to complete their walkoff come-from-behind victory. With the win, the Panthers move to 5-0 and are way up on the rest of the league (Shakopee is the only other team above .500 at 2-1). The Lightning continued to battle and had their best defensive game of the season. The infield fielded seven ground balls and did not have an error. They hope to keep their bats hot and improved defense into their weekend tournament at Eagan. Their first game is Friday night at Eagan High School #2. Alex Bangh is receiving his first start of the season after throwing 6 innings of not allowing a run thus far. The other teams in the Lightning's pool include Rochester and East Ridge.

Selchow (L, 0-2)
