Game
Notes:
Coquitlam Reds edged Kelowna Cubs 6-5 in a hard-fought Premier League game Sunday in Coquitlam. The Reds scored early, but Kelowna took the lead in the top of the third. Brandon Kaufman was hit, and scored on Brett Sanguin's double. Sanguin then scored on Travis Schroeder's single. The Reds battled back with two of their own in the bottom of the third. In the fourth, Jordan Cheveldave doubled, Mike Persson got hit, both were moved forward by Cody Valgardson's sacrifice bunt, then scored on a single by Ryan Franz. The Reds again went up by one in the fifth. In the top of the seventh, Franz singled, moved to second on a Jason Gradidge sacrifice and scored the tying run on Sanguin's double. But errors spoiled the Cubs' effort, as a dropped ball at first put Shawn Shaeffer on. He moved to third on two infield outs, then scored on a Cubs error to end the game. Spencer Kilpatrick took the Kelowna loss on the mound, while David Hughes went the distance to record the victory for the Reds.
