Game Notes: Pecatonica took the lead in the 1st inning when a single hit to right centerfield by J. Hendrickson knocked in N. Loyd who was on second. A fielder's choice for J. Melvin and a walk for D. Clark loaded the bases. Then, a wild pitch struck N. Spink, which brought in the next run. G. Daley would earn an RBI as well when he reached first base on balls, and J. Tollackson would bring in another run when he, too, was struck by a wild pitch. The final run scored when J. Debord let a ball fly past on a full count and was awarded a base on balls.
Fitchburg then got its shot at bat, but went 3-up and 3-out to close out the inning.

The 2nd inning would see Pecatonica increase the lead by 5 more runs as a result of singles by J. Hendricksonn, J. Melvin, N. Spink (who earned 2 RBIs on his hit), D. Conwell, and J. Tollackson. But excellent fielding by the Viking infielders, J. Hendrickson, G. Daley, and N. Loyd, would keep the Fitchburg team off the scoreboard.

In the 3rd, J. Hendrickson would earn his second RBI of the night with a sacrifice fly. J. Melvin earned his first RBI of two with a single to left field, and G. Daley picked up his second RBI on a walk. Fitchburg batters managed to get to base on balls, but the team was unable to capitalize as one batter grounded out at first and two others struck out.

In the 4th, Pecatonica added three more runs to scoreboard by capitalizing on a series of walked batters, while Fitchburg made it on the board with its first and only run of the night, thanks in part to two fielding errors by Pecatonica players.

In the 5th inning, the Vikings scored one final run on walks before three of its batters struck out at the plate. Fitchburg's final chance to overcome a 16-run deficit came in the bottom of the 5th, but relief pitcher J. Melvin struck out two batters and caught an infield fly to end the game (which was called after 5 innings on the 10-run rule).

Player of the Game - J. Melvin - 2 RBIs, 5 Strikeouts, and 1 Putout
