Stockwell, Bangh (5) & Johansen (7) PRIOR LAKE -- Eastview (16-8-2) defeated Hillcrest 7-3 in pool play action Saturday morning. After Hillcrest got up by scoring a run in the 2nd, the Lightning put two across in the 4th without getting a hit. With 1-out, McDevitt was hit by a pitch and Bangh (courtesty runner) stole second base. After a Johansen walk, Bangh and Johansen successfully pulled off a double steal. Following a run-scoring wild pitch, Dickson drove in the second run with a SAC fly. In the 5th, Eastview pushed the lead to 7-1. Augustin led off with a HBP and moved to 2nd on a SAC bunt. After a walk, Wilson hit a 2-run double. After a strikeout, McDevitt walked and Johansen singled in a run. After another Johansen stolen base, Dickson drove in 2 runs with a single that bounced over the second basemen's head. Hillcrest tallied two unearned runs in the 6th and 7th but it wasn't enough as the Lighting held on for the win. Stockwell started the game and went the first four allowing 5 hits, only walking one and giving up one run. Bangh pitched the next two without allowing a hit and Johansen pitched the last frame to close it out. The last game of pool play was postponed because of rain and so Eastview awaits to find out what happens for Sunday morning. As of now, Chaska is tied for the pool lead with Eastview at 1-0-1, Hillcrest is 1-1, and Prior Lake is eliminated after going 0-2 so far. Stockwell (W, 2-0) |
