Bangh, Selchow (6) & McDevitt (7) ANDOVER -- Eastview (24-15-2) lost its quarterfinal matchup against Apple Valley 9-5, eliminating them from bracket play. The Lightning jumped ahead by putting 4 runs across in the first inning on only three hits. Apple Valley made three errors in the inning, their only mistakes on the day. After the Eagles kept battling back and eventually taking the lead in the top of the 6th, McDevitt hit a one-out double and scored on a Johansen single to tie the game at 5. That wouldn't last long as Apple Valley found some holes in the 7th to plate 4 and advance to the semifinals. **UPDATE: Apple Valley went on to defeat Burnsville & Rosemount to win the Championship! Selchow (L, 4-5) |
