Augustin, Leighton (2), Selchow (3) & Dickson (7) ST CLOUD -- Eastview (25-17-2) defeated Prior Lake in the consolation semifinals. In the only other meeting on the season, Prior Lake defeated Eastview in league play, so the Lightning wanted to get one back on them. The Lakers took a 1-0 lead on a leadoff walk, two wild pitches, and a groundout. The Lightning scored in their half of the first on a Selchow (2 RS, 3 RBI, SB) single driving in Johansen (2 RS, SB, BB). After the Lakers scored two more in the 3rd on two hits, two walks and an error. They pushed their lead to 4-1 after an RBI triple. It was then that the Lightning bats finally awoke. With two out and nobody on, Augustin (2 BB) singled, Terlizzi (BB) singled & Johansen singled. Dickson (2 RS, SB, BB) drove in two with a triple. Selchow followed with a double and Bangh hit him in with another double. After the Lakers got within one, Eastview pushed across 3 more in the 6th inning. Dickson walked, stole second, and scored on Selchow's single. Selchow scored on Bangh's double. Following a flyout, Leighton drove in Bangh with an infield single to put the Lightning up 9-5. Prior Lake added one in their last frame but it was too little, too late as Eastview won, advancing to the consolation championship. Selchow (W, 5-5) |
