Game Notes: The scoreboard remained empty through the first two innings when the currently ranked, top two teams in the league met in Fitchburg. Pecatonica's starting pitcher D. Conwell pitched two no-hit innings, and his relief pitcher, J. Melvin allowed only two hits and no runs in the 3rd and 4th innings. The highlight of the 4th inning was a double play when Melvin caught an in-field fly and then threw out a runner who got caught off second base.

Meanwhile, Pecatonica batters were able to score on an error in the 3rd, and on a flurry of walks in the 4th. In the 5th, two Pecatonica batters reached base (one hit by a wild pitch, the other on balls) after which G. Daley knocked a fast line-drive to right center for a single and 2 RBIs. More walked batters would load the bases and bring in more runs to increase the Vikings' lead to an even 10 runs.

In the bottom of the 5th, however, Fitchburg faced new relief pitcher J. Debord. Batters then capitalized on walks, two hits to center field, and a few fielding errors to score 5 runs and keep them in contention. J. Melvin returned to the mound and, after allowing one run and walking another batter, he struck out three straight to bring the inning to a close.

In the 6th, Pecatonica again capitalized on walks after a double by J. Melvin down the third base line to add two more runs to the scoreboard. Then, relief pitcher, J. Scoville took the mound for Pecatonica and ended Fitchburg's hopes with two strike outs and a grounder easily fielded by first baseman, J. Hendrickson.
