Notes:
The Bombers got off to a great start in the American Invitational Tournament with an impressive 26-15 win over the Ellisville Vipers in Game 1 of Pool B play. The Bombers started slowly, trailing 5-2 after the 1st; however, the bats came alive and the Bombers built what proved to be an insurmountable 16-5 lead in the 4th inning. With the win, the Bombers remained undefeated at 5-0 on the season.
The SILVER SLUGGER AWARD was shared by 3 players who each banged out 5 hits in the game. Cullen Barone won his first SILVER SLUGGER after getting 5 singles in a 5 for 6 effort in which he also scored 2 runs and drove home 2 more. Brian Jones also got 5 singles in a 5 for 5 game with 3 runs and 1 RBI. Jacob Miller put on another power show in winning his third SILVER SLUGGER in 5 games. Jacob blasted 2 doubles and a triple to go along with 2 singles in a 5 for 5 game. Jacob also drove in 4 RBIs and scored 4 more runs. Honorable mention goes to Bennett Hacala, Artie DeGuire, Michael Hojnacki, and Matthew Wynn for each getting 4 hits in the game. Matthew also led the team with 5 RBIs.
The GOLD GLOVE AWARD went to Bennett Hacala, Michael Hojnacki, and Jacob Miller in a well played defensive game by the entire team.
