Cedarburg was unable to fight back from the big hole it dug itself into against East Suns Freshman, and Cedarburg lost 9-7 to the East Suns Freshman after falling behind by eight runs in the fifth inning.
Cedarburg scored on a fielder's choice and an error in the sixth inning and an RBI single by Robinson, an RBI single by Grimm, a sacrifice fly by Steinike, and an RBI single by Collins in the seventh inning. Despite its efforts, Cedarburg couldn't get over the hump.
Spencer Rittmann got on base three times in the game for East Suns Freshman. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the first and fifth innings.
Daeton Dudovick picked up the win for East Suns Freshman. Dudovick allowed one earned run, four hits and one walk while striking out three over six innings of work.
East Suns Freshman closer Dakota Skenandore put away the final out to record the save.
The top of the first saw Cedarburg take an early lead, 1-0. Jeske kicked things off for Cedarburg with a single. A stolen base then moved Jeske from first to second. Steinike singled, scoring Jeske.
It didn't take long for East Suns Freshman to answer as it scored one run of its own in the first. East Suns Freshman scored on an RBI single by Nick Rosenthal.
East Suns Freshman went up for good in the third, scoring two runs on two singles.
East Suns Freshman increased its lead with six runs in the fifth. A clutch hit into a fielder's choice scored Rittmann to open the scoring in the frame. That was followed up by Jake Baumann's single, scoring Tom Oppermann and Andrew Steiner.
