| Game Notes: The Thunder (13-8-1) lost to Apple Valley in the first winner's bracket match-up at the State Tournament in Coon Rapids. The 76ers tallied eleven runs on just eight hits, with just three coming against starter Brad "B-Train" Landgrebe (2-2) over the first five frames. The Thunder offense managed just five hits against 76er righthander Chris Quamm and one reliever. Jeremy "JJ" McKay had the club's lone RBI when he knocked in Jake Kruegel with a ground out in the third. Kruegel, Landgrebe, Mitch Haug, Nick "the Quick" Molitor and rookie Pat "Fast Money" Coyne each had singles. The Thunder will play an elimination game Sunday against the loser of the Tri-City Gold- Cretin Blue match-up. | ||||||||||
