Notes:
The Thunder (8-5, 5-3) moved to within two games of the division lead by beating crosstown rival Apple Valley in extra innnings, 12-11. Lead-off man Spencer Pratt returned to the line-up and got the club on the board in the first. He walked, stole second and moved to third on Mitch Haug's groundout. Ben Wagner drove home Pratt with another grounder. Valley responded with three in the bottom half and tallied runs in the second and third to go up 6-1. Starter Joe Radermacher shut down Valley in the fourth and fifth innings to allow the Thunder to rally, cutting the lead to 6-5 and going up 7-6 after five. The club took the lead on RBI singles from John Grotkin and Joel Bertelsen. After Valley responded with three in the sixth to go up 9-7, the Thunder again rallied with a four-run seventh, getting key hits from Casey Jacobson (2RBI) and Rookie Justin Trusty (2RBI). Valley tied the game in the bottom of the inning, leaving the potential winning run at second base when Radermacher flashed the leather with a diving catch of a line-drive. In the eighth, Haug (3RS) led off with a double and advanced to third on a passed ball. Adam Edwinson lined a 0-1 pitch to center, plating the winning run. Grotkin came on to close the door with two strikeouts in the eighth, earning his second save of the year. Dan "Comeback" Coyle pitched two innings, yielding just one earned run and striking out two, to pick up his first win of the season.
