Game
Notes:July 12th, 2008- Gamblers Avoid Late Inning Disaster
The first game of the new season for the Sin City Gamblers was shaky at best. Despite commiting 4 errors, 2 wild pitches, being picked off, and held to 3 hits with 15 strikeouts against Bomb Squads Ace, Dustin Hobbs, the Gamblers found a way to win. With all runs scored in the game being unearned, it was came down to which defense could come up big in the end.
Justin Spurrier (1-0) went 8 innings only giving up 2 hits while striking out 11 to only 1 walk, to record his first victory of the season. Kyle Gutchewsky lead the offense going 1 for 1 with 3 walks, 2 runs, and scored the go ahead run in the bottom of the sixth. Keoki Wright recorded his first save of the season, after getting him self into a jam in the ninth. With the top of the lineup due up in the 9th and the Gamblers up 3-2, Bomb Squads leadoff hitter roped a triple down the line. Wright was able to get the second hitter to pop up for the first out, followed by a come backer to record the second, and the final out of the game came via strikeout.
