Wow what a way to start the tournament! We win in a 7 inning game 4-3. Top of the 1st, Spencer is out to pitch, 1st batter hits a shot to LF for a 3B, 2nd batter hits one and gets on, and a run scores, then 3rd batter, Joe catches a fly ball at SS for out #1, Then Shane catches a fly ball in the outfield for a HUGE out #2 (Great Job Shane!!!!!), then Elijah shuts down the inning with a fly catch at 2nd for out #3, Bottom of the 1st, Joe takes a shot up the middle to get on, Hunter D grounds out to 1st, Spencer takes a walk, Hunter J gets robbed on a line drive to 1st base for out #2 and then Cody's up to bat. While Cody's fighting off the pitches, Joe steals home and puts us on the board. Cody then grounds out to the pitcher for a 1 run inning. 2nd inning, Spencer goes back out to the mound for more. 1st batter hits a double, second batter gets a single and scores a run, then he strikes one out. Next batter Joe catches a fly ball for out #2 and Spencer finishes them off with a strikeout! Bottom of the 2nd, we start with a K, then Elijah gets on with a walk, Shane grounds out to the pitcher, Chris takes a walk and we end with a strikeout and no runs. Top of the 3rd, Joe takes the mound, and sends all 3 back to the dugout with a 1,2,3 K and no runs scored! Bottom of the 3rd, Joe hits and gets a single, then Hunter D gounds out to 1st, and Spencer gets robbed on a line drive to SS, that the SS made an amazing laid out in the air catch for out #2. We end the inning with a K and no runs scored. Top of the 4th, Joe returns to the mound and starts them off with a K, then we get 2 singles. Next batter hits one to Spencer at SS and Spencer throws to Chris to get the lead runner out at 3rd and out #2. Next batter grounds back to Joe, and he retires them with a throw to Hunter J to end the inning with no runs. Bottom of the 4th, Cody grounds out to the pitcher, Baylor has a nice hit for a single, then we get a K and Shane gets out on a hit to second for a 4-3, #3 out and no runs scored. Top of the 5th, Hunter J takes the mound and the first batter waits and takes a walk, the next one gets a K, next guy gets a single, but that's it as the next 2 go down with K's. Bottom of the 5th, Chris has a shot to SS, but the throw beats him out, then a K and Joe hits it back to the pitcher who gets him out a 1st and no runs scored. We still have time left so we go for inning #6. Top of the 6th, Hunter takes the mound again, 1st batter grounds out to Chris at 1st for out #1, then their lead off hitter is up and hits one up the middle, that Spencer fires to first for out #2, and Hunter ends it with a K and no runs scored! Bottom of the 6th, we start with a K, then Spencer has a high fly ball to the gap in RC and gets a double. Hunter J takes a hit for a single, and Cody hits a hard ball down 3rd base, but they make a nice throw to 1st for the out, but Cody gets an RBI, as Spencer was able to score and tie up the game 2-2. Then Baylor hits one to SS and the throw beats him there and the inning ends and we are tied up! Lets go for 7 innings! Top of the 7th inning, Elijah takes the mound and the first batter waits and takes a walk, next guy hits one deep to CF for a double and a run scores Then on the 3rd batter who hits a single to RF, the ball is thrown to 3rd to try to stop the lead runner, but it is a high ball and can't get him out there, but wait, Christopher picks up the ball, the runner heads for home, and Chris fires it home to Spencer, who is waiting and we get the runner out at home for out #1. Then the next batter gounds out to Baylor who steps on the 1st for out #2. Then the next batter hits one to Hunter J at SS, he knocks it down and then turns and throws home to Spencer and Spencer is able to get the runner out at the plate on an awesome play. Bottom of the 7th, no pressure, all we need is 2 runs to win! Elijah starts us off with a walk, Shane has a nice hit up the middle for a single then Christopher comes up to the plate ready and knocks one into CF for a double. The stands are cheering in comes Elijah to tie up the game at 3-3, but wait here comes Shane flying around 3rd base and runs home and crosses homeplate with the game winning run!!!!!! 4-3 we win in the most exciting minor game of the season! |
